Plug & Charge

Plug & Charge is an authentication and billing system that simplifies your charging experience. Charging stations that support Plug & Charge identify your car and its associated payment method as soon as you connect the charging cable to your car. This allows for charging to automatically start without the use of additional cards, apps or any other authentication methods.

 Note

Even if Plug & Charge is included in the charging view, it may not be available in your country. This is because e-mobility service providers, charging stations and other infrastructure need to support Plug & Charge in your country before it can be used.

You can find charging stations that support Plug & Charge through Google Maps in the centre display. If you are using the Volvo public charging service (VPCS), then you can also find the charging stations in the Volvo Cars app, under the map symbol Px-2037-VOC app icon Map.

Before you can charge your car at a charging station that supports Plug & Charge, you need to do the following:

If you are experiencing problems with Plug & Charge, see Problems with Plug & Charge for more information.

To change or remove your Plug & Charge contract certificate, see Changing or removing your Plug & Charge contract certificate for more information.
