Service and maintenance

Booking a service with the Volvo Cars app

You will be informed in the Volvo Cars app when your car needs to be taken into a workshop for a service. From here, you can book a service appointment, view your booking details, or cancel the appointment if needed.

Restarting your car's central computer

You may experience unexpected problems with you car, such as difficulty starting or charging. Restarting your car's central computer can help resolve these issues, just like a restart of your phone or laptop would.

Replacing the EX30 key tag battery

You can replace the battery in your key tag when it goes flat. If however the battery goes flat within a short period of time, it may also need a software update by a Volvo dealer.

Maintenance status in the Volvo Cars app

You can find your car's current maintenance status in the Volvo Cars app. You will also be notified when your car needs maintenance or a service.

Restarting the centre display

If the centre display's response is slow, it might help to restart the display. A restart may also fix the problem if you are experiencing issues with e.g. Bluetooth, navigation or connectivity.

Service planning for your car

Using the service planning function, a workshop can retrieve your car's status before your visit through Volvo's authorised workshop system. It means your visit to the workshop can be planned more efficiently, for you and the service technicians. Spare parts can be ordered in advance and be ready before your visit to the workshop.

Avoiding ice blockage in the exhaust pipe of your plug-in hybrid

When you use the combustion engine of your plug-in hybrid, water is produced as a residual product. In cold weather, this water might turn into ice and block the exhaust pipe. In some cases, the ice blockage might even prevent your car from starting. There are some steps you can take to avoid this.
