Volvo Car USA, LLC (or “VCUSA”, “our”, or “we”) strives to make our websites accessible to all visitors and we are committed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and relevant U.S. regulations. VCUSA recognizes that accessibility and usability might not always be available in every area of our websites or for those using assistive technologies and devices. Please be aware that our ADA compliance efforts are ongoing as we improve our websites’ accessibility features. This ADA Compliance Statement (or “Statement”) provides our current ADA status and we will update this Statement as our compliance efforts continue.
We welcome your questions about our ADA Accessibility Statement and comments on how we can improve our website’s accessibility. Please send your questions or comments to VCUSA Customer Care by filling out the webform below. You may also call us toll-free at (800) 550-5658 or vcuscare@volvocars.com.
VCUSA builds and manages our websites with developers in the U.S. and the European Union. Starting in 2019 and continuing this year, our websites’ pages and code were re-factored based on WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards (Level A and AA Success Criteria). To make our content available to all visitors with a wide range of disabilities, we used guidelines issued by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to improve our accessibility features.
While we’re working to make sure our websites are accessible as possible and meet WCAG 2.0 guidelines, our content may not always pass all available online validation tools. Our approach is to test our websites using automated tools and manual review methods found on Siteimprove.com. We document any found issues and prioritize them according to overall impact and level of effort to fix. Issues that greatly affect the website experience for those with disabilities are immediately addressed.
Our websites now meet most ADA/WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards and we have done a great deal of work to give all website visitors a great user experience. Still, some outstanding design issues remain, and we expect these issues to be resolved in future website redesigns. Some pending accessibility improvements address:
Using the tools available from Siteimprove.com, we will scan our websites twice a year. The scans will measure our performance with the WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards and find any accessibility issues that may have a potential impact on those with disabilities. We will take all reasonable and commercially viable efforts to fix any issues within six (6) months from the time of our last scan. We will list any accessibility issues that will take longer to fix in our Statement and give you an explanation of our efforts to resolve them in a reasonable time.
